How It Works

1. Apply

Adults ages 22 and older can submit an application online to join Highlands.

2. Join the Waitlist

After completing your registration, you’ll be added to the waitlist for your selected program. We offer both independent study and in-person learning options.

3. Attend Orientation

As space becomes available, you’ll be invited to attend an orientation session.

• The independent study program orientations are held monthly.
• The in-person program orientations are held weekly.

During orientation, you’ll learn about Highlands, program expectations, available resources, and next steps.

4. Choose Your Program

Students can enroll in one of the following programs:

• High School Diploma Program
• English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

High school students will also have the opportunity to meet with their counselor during orientation.

5. Stay Supported

Our Student Services team is here to help throughout your educational journey. From academic support to navigating life challenges, we’re committed to helping you succeed.

6. Prepare for Your Future

As you progress through your program, you’ll have access to career readiness resources and support designed to help you achieve your goals beyond graduation.

7. Graduate & Succeed

Complete your program, celebrate your accomplishments, and take the next step toward your future with confidence.
